Alycia de Mesa, also known as Fire Sparkles The Sky, began the harp as her third instrument at the age of 10. She studied classical solo music and played as an orchestral, music theater and ensemble player throughout her teens and twenties. Her teachers included Karen Miller, Christine Vivona, Caroll McLaughlin and Marcella Decray. Today she is an accomplished and versatile player of many genres. |
| In addition to performing classical and contemporary music, her passion is to create, perform and record original, harp-based music that blends classical, jazz, world music, and pop within an improvisational framework. Her compositions and performances span the gamut of new classical music settings to R&B. She is the only harpist to ever play the famed Whisky-A-Go-Go rock club in Hollywood, CA. |
